Return on Investment (ROI)

« Back to Glossary Index

Return on investment (ROI) measures the gain from an investment compared with its cost. It is calculated as (total benefit minus total cost) divided by total cost, shown as a percentage. An ROI of 200% means the investment returned three times what it cost. For AI, the benefit should be measured in financial or service terms, not just hours saved.
